Summer Go Trips Celebration

CELEBRATING OUR TEAMS

On Tuesday, July 30th, we had the opportunity to hear from and celebrate alongside 3 Bethel GO Teams. The Belize team, the Greece team, and the Cambodia team.

THE BELIZE TEAM

The Belize team went to serve with our Global Partner, AIM, in April. Here are some of the highlights:

^

NEW LOCATION

Belize is a new location for AIM (they have been working in Cambodia for many years now) and this team went to help prepare the buildings that will be used for restoration homes.

^

ALLOWING GOD'S DIRECTION

Members of the team shared how they went with one intention for the trip (helping with construction),  but were blown away by the ways God moved every day. This team did a great job of adapting and emphasizing the importance of relationship building with our Partner.

BUILDING RELATIONSHIPS

They shared how they saw God provide opportunities to connect with others starting during their travel to Belize and it continued throughout their trip through several different connections.

THE GREECE TEAM

The Greece team served with our Global Partner, CVC, in June by working at their teen camp. This Partner hosts many camps every summer and the teen camp is one that their staff puts on each year.

FUN & GAMES

This team was able to serve by overseeing the games for the camp, but were also able to help with worship and coming alongside the staff in various ways.

JOCELYN'S STORY

One team member, Jocelyn, was returning for the second time after having served as an intern for two months the summer prior. She was intentional to deepen relationships that had started the previous year as well as build new relationships particularly with those serving as interns this year that she could relate to thanks to her previous experience.

GAVIN'S STORY

Another team member, Gavin, had the opportunity to help lead worship at the camp. At the celebration, he shared how he was impacted through the power of connection with believers around the world through worshipping in different languages.

THE CAMBODIA TEAM

The Cambodia team had just returned from our Global Partner, AIM. This team worked with teachers at AIM’s school in Svay Pak.

TRANSFORMATION

Two of the team members had been to AIM in Cambodia several times before. They shared how much transformation they have seen take place in Svay Pak since they started going. The school had just been an idea several years ago and now the team was able to help pour into teachers who are making a difference in many kids’ lives. They were able to see a classroom that Bethel provided the funds to furnish when the school was being built, as well.

HISTORY IS IMPORTANT

There were three team members who had not been to Cambodia before. They each shared how learning about the genocide that took place in Cambodia in the 70’s helped them to better understand what the people they were serving had been through and/or been impacted by.

CERTIFICATES CAN CHANGE LIVES

The training this team provided was a special offering as the teachers there do not have many opportunities for ongoing training. The team was able to provide certificates for the teachers that can allow them to show on their resumes that they have had this training.
