Celebrating Dave’s Next Season
This past Sunday, Dave shared a personal update with our Bethel family.
Dave has served on staff at Bethel for more than 20 years, faithfully investing in our church, our leaders, and countless individuals along the way. Over the past two years, he has served part-time as Mentoring Pastor, continuing to pour into the life and leadership of our church.
After several months of prayer and discernment, Dave has decided that this is the right time for him to step off staff. While this marks a transition in his role, Dave will continue serving on our preaching team and as a Bethel Elder, remaining deeply engaged in the leadership and spiritual direction of our church.
Dave shared a few reflections that shaped this decision.
One of his hopes during this season was to help bridge our church and staff from what had once been a more uncertain season into a stronger and healthier foundation. He shared that he now sees Bethel in a solid place and is grateful for the strength and unity among our staff and leaders.
Another desire was to come alongside Pastor Adam to encourage and support his leadership. Dave shared that he now sees Adam leading with clarity and growing confidence, which brings him great encouragement.
Dave also reflected that after many years focused primarily on ministry within Bethel, he would like the freedom to pursue ministry opportunities beyond Bethel’s immediate focus.
Finally, Dave spoke about the natural rhythms of discipleship. The pattern of letting go and embracing new life is part of how God grows us.
We are deeply thankful for Dave’s decades of faithful service, leadership, and care for the Bethel family. We’re also grateful that he will continue preaching, serving as an Elder, and investing in the life of our church in meaningful ways.
Please join us in thanking Dave and praying for him and his family as they step into this next season.
