Staff Update
We’d like to share some bittersweet news with you about our very own, Angie Hufford.
For the past 13 years, we’ve had the incredible privilege of calling Angie one of our own. Recently, however, she has accepted a new position leading a church in her hometown in Indiana.
We will all miss Angie’s presence here, yet we can also be genuinely glad for her family to have her near again, and for the congregation she will now lead. Many of us have our own ‘Angie stories’—times when her kindness, humor, leadership, helpfulness, encouragement, and, of course, her creative costumes have touched our lives. Her deep love for God and His church is commendable, consistently shown through her tangible, sacrificial love.
If you’d like to offer a message of encouragement or appreciation, it would certainly be a blessing. Written cards can be left at the welcome booth in the lobby on Sundays or you can email her directly at ahufford@bethel.ch. Additionally, as a congregation we will pray for her and have a reception on the patio after each service on Sunday, October 6th.
We are already working on plans to ensure that the vital work she has done with the Executive Team, Care and Local Outreach will continue. We will share further updates as they become available.
For all God has done and will continue to do in and through Angie, we give thanks.
A PERSONAL MESSAGE FROM ANGIE:
Hello Bethel family! I’m holding a complexity of bittersweet emotions right now, as I announce that I will soon be leaving Bethel staff for a new pastoral position in rural Indiana. My last Sunday will be October 13th, Local Fest and my last day in the office will be Oct. 15th
I love this church and I am very sad to leave Washington – full of good friends and a church family I adore! But the Lord has called me to a new adventure and I move forward with expectancy in obedience to Him. I feel blessed that this move allows me to live near my family and to stretch some of my spiritual giftings. I also feel blessed knowing you are in great leadership hands here and there are awesome days ahead for Bethel Church!
Thank you to all my wonderful co workers throughout the years and to all the faithful volunteers and friends who have made my time at Bethel pure JOY – even when we weathered a lot of storms together, we kept the faith TOGETHER! Your love and loyalty are unmatched, and your “appreciation” for my silly sense of humor has been a treasure to me! I will forever be grateful that God allowed me to serve and love all of you! I appreciate your prayers as I prepare for and navigate this bittersweet transition. Please know that I look forward to continuing relationships with you in prayer, ongoing support and visits!
– Angie

FIND YOUR PLACE AT LOCALFEST
Join us on Sunday, October 13th for our locally-focused service, then visit with local ministries and agencies who are serving our community.
At our 3rd annual LocalFest, you’ll have the opportunity to meet some of our local partners and see how you can use your unique skills and passions to share Jesus, as we serve together on mission at Bethel and in our community.
This year, we want to focus on helping you determine the gifts God has blessed you with. Whether it be Craftsmanship, Hospitality, Faith, or others: there is a place for you! If you already know your gifts – awesome! If this is the first time you’ve heard of spiritual gifts, please take the short quiz and bring your results with you to LocalFest. Find the test here.
Even kids can participate in LocalFest! Besides finding a place to serve with their family, kids can participate in LocalFest by joining the Cereal Drive. All donations will go to families in need through the Tri Cities Food Bank!
